The Problems of Back-Coating
At Texflam, we like to understand our customers problems and concerns to see if there is a way to help. Obviously it is important for us to understand the problems that are faced in using a fire retardancy product so we avoid the pitfalls and shortcomings of alternative systems and providers. Back-Coating has its own common problems and whilst we feel that these are the main difficulties, should you be able to add to the list, we would be glad to hear from you.
Potential to Discolour, a common complaint and especially noticeable with the lighter colours. This could lead to the material being returned or a re-negotiation on price.
Loss of Feel, a common complaint as the back-coating can alter the softness of the material. This can lead to reduced customer satisfaction.
Clogging Spray Equipment, a common complaint as the process needs to be halted whilst parts are cleaned. This can lead to delayed application and increased costs.
Strike Through, a common complaint as the back-coating comes through and is seen from the front. This could lead to loss and/or return of cloth.
Higher Drying Temperatures, a common complaint as this can lead to a loss in the tensile strength of the material and would certainly mean higher power costs.
Uneven Application, by nature it can be difficult to apply evenly and therefore achieve consistent results. This can lead to rejection or the even more difficult task of re-application.
It would be a surprise if you have never experienced any of these problems and we would simply ask you to consider the advantages that Texflam can offer and how it could be of benefit to you and your business.
